Private Eye feed through LiveJournal
Every fortnight, the Private Eye team update their website with a couple of tidbits from their latest issue. Being an Englishman living overseas, I’m very grateful for this, because it’s the only way I can read the bloody thing.

This, however, means visiting the website every fortnight, and I’m a scatterbrain when it comes to such things. With this in mind, I used some programming skills to syndicate the following RSS feed for personal use. I thought I’d let you in on it, too:

http://www.jdbartlett.com/rss/private-eye.xml

I would also like a hand with something. What would be really neat would be to create a syndicated LiveJournal account to turn this RSS feed into something we can all add to our friends lists. What that would mean is that each week, our friends lists could be updated with the latest from private-eye.co.uk, including (if it keeps working as well as it does right now) images of the strips and look-alikes.

Unfortunately, this can only be set up by someone who owns a paid-for LiveJournal account, something my current budget doesn’t allow for. If anyone in this community has a paid-for LiveJournal account, please click here and scroll down to the bottom of the page that loads up, then paste the URL of the Private Eye RSS feed (http://www.jdbartlett.com/rss/private-eye.xml) into the textbox marked “Feed URL” and click submit -- that’s all it takes.

For more information about LiveJournal’s syndicated accounts feature, please click here. For an example of something like this having been done in the past, please click here to see The Onion's syndicated LiveJournal account.
